Spencer Durbin Scholarship
The Project 22 Scholarship, created by The DMAC Foundation, honors the life and legacy of Spencer Durbin—a beloved son, brother, teammate, and mentor who wore #22 on the lacrosse field. Spencer was known not only for his fierce athletic spirit, but also for his kindness, generosity, and courage. He stood up for others, lifted people up, and lived with compassion. Tragically, Spencer’s life was cut short at just 21 years old due to an accidental fentanyl overdose. Yet even in passing, his selflessness shone through as he became an organ donor, giving the gift of life to many.
This scholarship continues Spencer’s mission of helping others by supporting young athletes in pursuing their dreams. More than financial aid, it serves as a reminder of the importance of living with purpose, looking out for one another, and building a safer, more compassionate community. Through outreach, education, and resources like naloxone distribution, Project 22 is dedicated to raising awareness about the fentanyl crisis while investing in the next generation of leaders and athletes—just as Spencer did every day.
